I was working at Ty Hafan the night Izzy was referred to us and straight away I fell in love.
I was also working the day she left us, and I knew straight away I'd never be the same again.
We are trained to provide end-of-life care and deal with difficult situations, we're also taught how to protect ourselves from getting too emotionally invested but sometimes a child will come along and everything goes out the window. For many of us Izzy was that child. Although we only knew her for a few weeks she touched us all and changed our lives for the better. We really truly loved Izzy at Ty Hafan and it's taking a long time for us to adjust.
Goodnight you beautiful soul. We all had some Pink Gin and toasted to you the other night. You will never be forgotten here.

I have no words that do justice to the pain and sorrow I feel right now. Our lives were so much richer with you in them. You were so deeply entwined in everything we did that I feel the hole you left in our lives like I would a hole in my heart.
I have never felt sadness like I did on Tuesday night when you finally left us. But I am incredibly thankful too. Thankful that the end came so quickly, quietly and peacefully for you having endured the most awful 12 months imaginable. And thankful for having you in my life for such a short time.
I am so incredibly proud to have had the privilege of having you in my life. I am the proudest Dad there is.
RIP Izzy.
I will miss you always, my beautiful little girl.
